WELCOME TO udaanpari

Captain Zoya Agarwal personifies female empowerment and the pursuit of ambitious dreams. A trailblazer in both the Indian and global aviation sectors, she shattered barriers by becoming the world’s youngest woman to command a Boeing 777 aircraft. Amid the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, she led an all-women crew on India’s longest commercial flight over the North Pole as part of the Vande Bharat mission.

Beyond her exceptional aviation career, Captain Agarwal serves as a spokesperson and ally for UN Women for Generation Equality. She mentors and inspires over half a million young girls and women globally, emphasizing the importance of inclusion, diversity, and generational equity. Recognized for her groundbreaking achievements, she holds a place in the San Francisco Luis A. Turpen aviation museum, a testament to her pioneering role as the first Indian woman to achieve this distinction.

THE PROGRAM

CRISIS

1.3 million youth drop out of high school annually

Women make up less than 20% of the workforce in most aviation occupations
Shortage of pilots across the globe is hampering travel
Women only make up 4.6% of air transport pilot jobs, according to a report from the Women in Aviation board.

Empowering underrepresented girls from disadvantaged backgrounds in STEM Aviation, we address the aviation industry’s gender disparity, shortage and maximize global potential- we impact lives, transform communities and uplift economies.

Being a woman and a woman of Color I have faced biases which I would not want our young diverse girls to face which may deter them to reach their dreams

I want to make sure being a woman of color or being underrepresented communities from disadvantaged backgrounds they don’t get discouraged born reaching their dreams in aviation
